The early Grim Tales games make family visits a hazardous business. A wedding ends in a disappearance; an invitation to a christening leads to an empty estate. Starting with those cases lets the relationships develop before the series grows around them.
This route follows the Big Fish release dates for the first five Collector's Editions. It begins in August 2011 and reaches Bloody Mary two years later. You can follow that order for the family story, or use the individual premises to find one adventure that interests you.
1. The Bride, August 2011
Grim Tales: The Bride Collector's Edition
A sister vanishes on her wedding day. There is no body to settle the rumours, and the search returns to the family mansion and her memories. The family connection gives the investigation its reason to begin. Returning to a shared home makes the disappearance more immediate than an unfamiliar detective assignment.

2. The Legacy, January 2012
Grim Tales: The Legacy Collector's Edition
The next invitation should be a happy one, a christening. Instead, the estate is deserted and the family is missing. The change matters because the game starts from a life that appeared to have moved forward after The Bride. The invitation links the new case to the family's apparent recovery. The Steam Collector's Edition listing confirms an integrated strategy guide.
3. The Wishes, July 2012
Grim Tales: The Wishes Collector's Edition
The danger is now a bargain that threatens the detective's nephew, who is ageing before his mother's eyes. It gives the rescue a more specific supernatural mechanism than a simple disappearance. The bargain makes the threat painfully visible in a child. Untangling its consequences gives this chapter a particular urgency within the family story.
4. The Stone Queen, January 2013
Grim Tales: The Stone Queen Collector's Edition
Brandon's encounter with the Stone Queen takes the family story to a mining town. A figure who once protected the miners has become vengeful, and the investigation must establish why. This is a change of setting within the sequence. The town's history with its protector gives the anger a cause to investigate before the detective can resolve the conflict.

5. Bloody Mary, August 2013
Grim Tales: Bloody Mary Collector's Edition
A niece calls from a boarding school where teachers have disappeared and the pupils are behaving violently. Mirrors become the warning sign. The boarding school gives the urban legend a confined, familiar setting, with the missing adults leaving the pupils in danger. The Collector's Edition specifically lists a bonus game about Bloody Mary's origin.
For the family introduction, keep the order above. The Bride establishes the starting relationship, and the following invitations gain something from that familiarity. Bloody Mary is the more distinct single stop for a reader specifically interested in a haunted school.
Later adventures, including our archived review of The Time Traveler, can follow once you have some of that history. When comparing dates across stores, keep the edition in view: the dates above record the Big Fish PC releases, and a later Steam listing does not move an earlier chapter forward in the story.
