A single year's releases can reveal how many stories fit inside the hidden-object format. These six Big Fish Collector's Editions arrived in 2013. Their investigations take in a mining town, a school and a train that vanished with its passengers. Family rescues recur, but the places and problems change.
This is a retrospective selection, with dates checked for the named Big Fish PC editions. Steam dates may record a later arrival on that store. The list starts in January with two rather different kinds of trouble, one below the mountains and one above them.
January 4: Grim Tales: The Stone Queen
Grim Tales: The Stone Queen Collector's Edition
The year begins here with a mining community and a protector who has turned against it. That relationship gives the investigation something to explain beyond the presence of magic. The conflict expands the family saga into the history of a town, with the queen's anger as the question to resolve.

January 25: Surface: The Soaring City
Surface: The Soaring City Collector's Edition
An inventor has created wings for the inhabitants of a city in the sky, then been accused of experimenting on them. The rescue therefore includes the question of his reputation. This is the architectural fantasy choice in the group, with the impossible location built directly into the dispute.
May 24: Dark Parables: The Final Cinderella
Dark Parables: The Final Cinderella Collector's Edition
The Godmother hunts for the Cinderella she needs. It is a clean reversal of a familiar role and a reason to investigate before the happy ending can happen. The godmother's role turns a familiar source of help into the threat. Its bonus story has a named subject, Oriental Cinderella, which helps explain the edition premium.
August 2: Grim Tales: Bloody Mary
Grim Tales: Bloody Mary Collector's Edition
A boarding school and a warning about mirrors make this the urban-legend entry. The call comes from a niece, so the existing family connection gives a reason to enter the school. It is a more focused horror premise than the broad promise of another supernatural adventure.

September 20: Surface: The Pantheon
Surface: The Pantheon Collector's Edition
A train disappeared with the protagonist's family aboard. One year later, a scientist proposes recreating the conditions of the event. This is the most direct science-fiction mystery in the selection. The experiment offers a path toward an answer, while also asking the protagonist to return to the circumstances of her loss.
October 11: Haunted Hotel: Eclipse
Haunted Hotel: Eclipse Collector's Edition
A disturbance at a hotel brings you and James to a place whose maid describes the guests as monsters. The premise leaves room for the investigation to establish what that claim means. James's presence gives this case a partnership, changing the investigator's arrival from the solitary family rescues elsewhere in the selection.
Several of these adventures use a family rescue as the motive, yet a boarding school and a repeated train journey invite very different expectations. The supernatural figures change roles too: a former protector becomes hostile, and a godmother becomes the threat.
A worthwhile return to 2013 need not mean playing all six. Start with the premise that feels furthest from your last adventure, then read the full review and check the current trial. The archive date records when the edition arrived, not how it will run on the computer you use today.
