Surface: The Soaring City puts you in the position of a sibling trying to find him and clear his name. The premise has a useful uncertainty built into it: an invention that seemed liberating has become part of an accusation.

The sky setting is more than a change of wallpaper in the store's description. It is tied to Jeremy's work and to the people who have turned against him. That gives a reader interested in fantastical inventions a reason to choose this adventure over another supernatural mansion. The rescue is personal, but the question concerns the consequences of something built for a whole community.

A Steam player review checked for this overview describes an interesting interaction between the inventory and the searches: items collected elsewhere can be required to finish objects within a hidden-object scene. That matters if you are used to treating each object list as a self-contained puzzle. A scene that appears impossible may depend on something acquired outside it. The same customer reports a resolution problem on their setup and says using 1920 by 1080 avoided missing areas of the image.

We have not reproduced that display issue and would not generalise it to the Big Fish version. Still, it makes inspecting the complete screen during a trial sensible. Check that the edges of scenes and interface remain visible at your chosen display setting. A puzzle can seem obscure for a very different reason if part of the picture is absent.

The Collector's Edition contains an additional adventure and a strategy guide, with artwork and wallpapers also listed on Steam. The guide may be especially useful when it is unclear whether a search needs an inventory object. The extra adventure is a separate value question for anyone mainly interested in Jeremy's story.

The Soaring City is worth considering for readers who want an invention-led fantasy mystery and are happy for object searches to connect with the wider inventory. That connection is a more concrete point of difference than a promise of beautiful scenery alone. It may frustrate someone who prefers to complete every scene before leaving it, so sample that rhythm before buying. The accusation against Jeremy supplies a reason to keep investigating; the useful test is whether navigating the city's tasks makes you equally curious. Choose the sky adventure for that combination, after checking that the picture displays correctly on your own computer.
